Sticky BBQ Chicken Wings

Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated in a sticky, flavorful glaze.

Who is this for?

Serves 4 as a main course or 6 as a snack while having drinks or grilling.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken drumettes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper

For the glaze:

  • 3 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

You’ll need:

  • Kugel-BBQ or Kamado
  • Charcoal or coconut briquettes
  • Optional: smoking wood (cherry for a sweet smoky flavor)

Here’s how to make it:

Prep
Toss the chicken with oil and spices. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Grilling
Grill the chicken indirectly at 180 °C. Turn regularly. Cook for 25–30 minutes.
Glaze
Mix the ingredients for the glaze. Brush the chicken with the glaze and grill briefly over direct heat until sticky and caramelized.
Serving
Serve warm, with napkins on the side (this gets messy).

Tip:

Apply two coats for an extra thick, sticky layer.
