Smoked cheese burger with cheddar

Smoky, juicy, and cheesy; a burger for true barbecue lovers.
Who’s it for?
For anyone who loves a hearty meal with a smoky flavor and melted cheese.
Ingredients (4 servings):
- 4 beef patties (approx. 150 g)
- 4 slices of cheddar
- 4 hamburger buns
- Pickles, red onion, lettuce
- Mustard, BBQ sauce
You’ll need:
- Open grill or plancha
- Beech wood chips (for a mild smoke)

Here’s how to make it:
Preparation
Light the fire and add smoking wood once the coals are glowing. Let your grill get very hot.
Grilling
Place the burgers over direct heat. Grill for about 4 minutes per side. Add the cheddar in the last minute.
Finishing
Toast the buns briefly. Top with sauce, lettuce, burger, pickle, and onion.
Serving
Insert a skewer and serve with fries or coleslaw.
Tip:
Place a metal lid or bowl over the burger as soon as you add the cheese. This will help it melt perfectly.
